Soon it will be time for Oktoberfest, so it’s time to get dressed up in Dirndls and Lederhosen and practice your beer drinking skills while listening to some typical beer festival music!

While getting into the vibe, you can also buy tickets for our trip to Stuttgarter Volksfest / Cannstatter Wasen (Oktoberfest of Stuttgart)!

More information about our trip to Stuttgart and the Cannstatter Wasen:
VISUM takes you and your friends to Germany´s second biggest Volksfest – the Cannstatter Wasen. In 2016, 4 million visitors came to enjoy the biggest showman festival in Europe. Therefore, you definitely shouldn´t miss this event, as it is the best opportunity to see how the Germans celebrate their beer.
On top, we will first bring you to Stuttgart’s city center and guide you through the capital of Baden-Württemberg. After this more cultural part of the DayTrip we will head to the Cannstatter Wasen (also known as „Oktoberfest of Stuttgart“) where you can try out some of numerous funfair rides and stalls. At 5 pm we have reserved tables in one of the traditional tents and will enjoy a few beers and good German food with your fellow international friends!
WHEN: Sunday, September 30th, 10:30 am to approx. midnight
WHERE: meeting point is the Ehrenhof
PRICE: 41€
What´s included:

A kind of different event will take place on Wednesday. For those who are interested in engaging socially whilst your exchange come to our Social Erasmus Kick-Off. There we will give you more detailed information about the project.

SocialErasmus (SE) offers opportunities for international students to get closer to the local community where they can engage in volunteer activities, which aids individual community members or the local community in general.
Our mission is to involve international students into volunteering services and to create a positive social impact in the local communities.
This project is for everyone who wants to experience Mannheim and Germany not only by partying, hanging out, etc. but also for those who want to experience their student life in Mannheim and the Rhein-Neckar region by becoming socially involved!
So if you are interested and would like to get to know more about it, join our Social Erasmus Kick-Off on Wednesday evening 7pm.
The Kick-Off will be in the university, the actual room will be announced in the next couple of days :-)
Now we also want to give you an outlook on one of our future events. One of the best events in the whole semester, the International Dinner will take place on Tuesday, Sept 25th. Let’s get that winter body ready!
Dear exchange student,
do you prefer chili over wasabi or vice versa? Do you want to try Korean Kimbap or French Quiche Lorraine? Now is the time to do so!
At our International Dinner you can taste a variety of culinary specialties while offering delicacies from your home country! What do you have to do?
Meet in small groups with your compatriots, prepare food that is typical for your country, and bring traditional drinks.
The idea is to exchange food, so we ask you to bring something if you would like to participate. You don’t need to bring a lot. It should just be sufficient for everyone to try some.

Um euch schon mal einen Ausblick auf eines unserer besten Events zu geben – das International Dinner findet am Dienstag den 25. September statt!
Bevorzugt ihr Chili oder Wasabi?
Möchtet ihr koreanisches Kimbap oder französische Quiche Lorraine probieren?
Jetzt könnt ihr sie ausprobieren! Beim internationalen Dinner könnt ihr Speisen und Getränke aus aller Welt kosten und gleichzeitig typisches Essen aus eurem Land vorstellen!
Was müsst ihr machen?
Findet euch in Ländergruppen zusammen, bereitet etwas Landestypisches zu und bringt nach Möglichkeit auch noch traditionelle Getränke mit.
Die Idee ist, sich gegenseitig landestypische Spezialitäten vorzustellen. Wenn ihr am Dinner teilnehmt, bringt bitte auch selbst etwas mit. Ihr müsst nicht allzu viel zubereiten, aber soviel, dass jede/r etwas probieren kann.
