Are you still wondering what to do on Labor Day – May 1st? All the shops will be closed since it’s a public holiday and at this time of the year, you never know what the weather will be like …
Wonder no more, dear lovers of fun and movie enthusiasts, for VISUM is showing you the German comedy “Kokowääh.” The movie was a big hit in Germany and was released in 2011. In a nutshell, it is about a guy who isn’t into commitments. Suddenly, he finds out that he has a daughter who was the result of a one-night stand in Stockholm. The way he finds out about her is by her mother dropping her off at his doorstep. Now he has no choice but to learn how to be a dad – a process that is hilarious to watch.
The movie will be shown in German with English subtitles – this means that you will not only get full proof of the fact that Germans actually do have humor, but you can also improve your German skills.

Wisst ihr noch nicht so recht, wie ihr den Tag der Arbeit, also den 1. Mai, verbringen sollt? Weil dieser Tag ein Feiertag ist, haben alle Geschäfte geschlossen und obendrein weiß man um diese Jahreszeit nie so recht, wie das Wetter wird…
Trotz allem gibt es einen Lichtblick, auf den sich alle Film- und Spaß-Liebhaber unter euch freuen können, denn VISUM zeigt euch die deutsche Komödie „Kokowääh“. Der Film war ein großer Erfolg in Deutschland und kam 2011 in die Kinos. Kurz gesagt geht es um einen Typen, der sich nicht gerne bindet. Plötzlich erfährt er jedoch, dass er eine Tochter hat – das Resultat eines One-Night-Stands in Stockholm. Und zwar steht diese eines Tages einfach vor seiner Tür, wo ihre Mutter sie abgesetzt hat. Zwangsläufig bleibt ihm also nichts anderes übrig, als zu lernen, wie man ein guter Vater wird. Dieser Lernprozess ist natürlich äußerst amüsant und unterhaltsam.
Wir zeigen den Film auf Deutsch mit englischen Untertiteln – das heißt, ihr könnt zum einen eure Fremdsprachkenntnisse verbessern und euch zum anderen mal wieder bewusst machen, dass wir Deutschen eben doch Humor haben.

The weather is finally getting better – this calls for spontaneity! VISUM invites you to participate in our sports day: forget the learning stress, flee from the library and enjoy a day full of sunshine and sports. From 12pm till 2 pm we will be playing soccer and from 2 pm until 5 pm we will play some Beachvolleyball.
When? Sunday, 6th of May 2018 from 12pm
Where? At the soccer and volleyball court of the university, behind the mensa (called Alfred Delp Sportanlage)

Are you ready for an exciting game in a unique atmosphere? If yes, then join us to watch a match of our local handball team, the Rhein-Neckar Löwen on Thursday, May 10, at the SAP Arena! This time, the “Löwen”, winners of the German Championship 2016, will play against SC Magdeburg and need your support!
To be a part of it all, you can get your ticket (which includes a beer) at our pre-sale on Thursday, May 3rd in front of the Mensa. First come, first served, so hurry up and get a ticket!

- VISUM goes Frühlingsfest Stuttgart
VISUM takes you and your friends to Germany´s biggest spring festival! You definitely shouldn´t miss this event, as it is the best opportunity during Spring term to see how the Germans celebrate their beer.
On top we will first bring you to the city center and guide you through the capital of Baden-Württemberg. After this more cultural part of the DayTrip we will head to the Cannstatter Wasen (also known as „Oktoberfest of Stuttgart“) where you can try out some of numerous funfair rides and stalls. At 5 pm we have reserved tables in one of the traditional tents and will enjoy a few beers and good German food with your fellow international friends!
Of course, we are happy if you show up in your „Dirndl“ or „Lederhose“ for that event ;)
