4. VISUM goes Strasbourg (SOLD OUT)
It´s time for our first VISUM Daytrip!
So why not join us on a trip to the exciting city of Strasbourg, located just across the German-French border in the beautiful Alsace region!
To get to know the city also known as “capital of Europe”, we’ll start with a guided walking tour of the historic city center. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a boat ride and discover Strasbourg from a different perspective. In the afternoon you'll have the choice of some more impressive sights, such as the Cathedral. You´ll also have time to discover Strasbourg´s shops and enjoy a coffee in the famous and charming quarter “La Petite France”.

6. VISUM goes Hamburg (SOLD OUT)
Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany and impressed millions of people with Europe’s second largest port, Hamburg Harbor. Due to a history of the Great Fire, which burned one third of the city and as an international trading city, Hamburg has enough to offer for more than just a weekend!
We will meet Thursday, October 3rd at 10:45pm to leave from Mannheim Ehrenhof.
Besides the bus ride, the hotel and breakfast, a guided city tour as well as a guided harbor boat tour are included in our weekend trip. Some of Hamburg's most popular sights you should not miss are the Elbphilharmonie, the Miniaturwunderland, the Alster river and the fish market. You will have free time to visit the sights or to spend as you wish. In the evening you will have a chance to see the Schanzenviertel and have a blast at one of Hamburg's best clubs.

7. SAVE THE DATE: International Dinner
Dear exchange student, dear foodies,
Do you prefer chili over wasabi or vice versa?
Do you want to try Korean Kimbap or French Quiche Lorraine? Now is the time to do so!
At our International Dinner you can taste a variety of culinary specialties while offering delicacies from your home country!
What do you have to do?
Meet in small groups with your compatriots, prepare food that is typical for your country, and bring traditional drinks.
The idea is to exchange food among each other, so we ask you to bring something if you would like to participate. You don’t need to bring a lot. It should just be sufficient for everyone to try some.
If possible, also bring a plate, cup and cutlery. We will offer some disposables but would like to reduce those with regard to our environment!

bevorzugt ihr Wasabi oder Chili?
Möchtet ihr koreanisches Kimbap oder französische Quiche Lorraine probieren? Jetzt habt ihr die Möglichkeit dazu!
Beim International Dinner könnt ihr Speisen und Getränke aus aller Welt kosten und gleichzeitig typisches Essen aus eurem Land vorstellen!
Was ist zu tun?
Findet euch in Ländergruppen zusammen, bereitet etwas Landestypisches zu und bringt nach Möglichkeit auch noch traditionelle Getränke mit.
Die Idee ist, sich gegenseitig landestypische Spezialitäten vorzustellen. Wenn ihr also am Dinner teilnehmt, bringt bitte auch selbst etwas mit. Ihr müsst nicht allzu viel zubereiten, aber so viel, dass jede/r etwas probieren kann.
Wenn möglich, bringt bitte euren eigenen Teller, Becher und Besteck mit. Aus Umweltgründen würden wir gerne auf Einweggeschirr so weit wie möglich verzichten!

8. VISUM goes Cannstatter Wasen
VISUM takes you and your friends to Germany´s second biggest Volksfest – the Cannstatter Wasen. In 2016, 4 million visitors came to enjoy the biggest showman festival in Europe. Therefore, you definitely shouldn´t miss this event, as it is the best opportunity to see how the Germans celebrate their beer.
On top, we will first bring you to Stuttgart’s city center and guide you through the capital of Baden-Württemberg. After this more cultural part of the DayTrip we will head to the Cannstatter Wasen (also known as „Oktoberfest of Stuttgart“) where you can try out some of numerous funfair rides and stalls. At 5 pm we have reserved tables in one of the traditional tents and will enjoy a few beers and good German food with your fellow international friends!
Of course, we are happy if you show up in your „Dirndl“ or „Lederhose“ for that event!
